If you love birds and nature, then this is your heaven
It was my 13th trip to pangot this year in May. There's a reason I go there again and again. Make that 4 irresistible reasons - I can't think of any other place where I can spot over 25 varieties of birds while having breakfast. The way the lodge has a rustic natural feel to it. The gracious service - the manager bhuwan goes the extra mile to take care of your requests. There was one particular step that was too high for me while climbing. I asked him to do something about it. He put a makeshift stone there, and the next time I went, that stone was cemented and fixed. And yes, how can I forget the food. Each person in every group I have taken there still fondly remembers the food even years after being there.

Highly recommended birding lodge in full contact with nature and with an exquisite friendly service.
Very good options for birding in and around the lodge. Peace and silence, except for the sounds of nature.
My favorite lodge of a 16-day ornithological trip of friends in the north of India.

Peaceful Oasis
We booked ‘Cheer’, ‘Khalij’ and ‘Koklas’ room for our family trip.
- cottages - Cheer was clean, easy access and had great balcony with view, Khalij - clean, steep stairs and secluded access, Koklas was clean and easy to get to.
Over all great place.. if you are looking to do in stay birdwatching.
Food was expensive but great option compared to others.
We went early morning and evening for bird feeding at designated place inside the property where they have made bird-hideout for viewing. I got to see Khalij pheasant, mag pie robins, warblers, tits etc bird in april.
Bhuvan - the manager was very helpful and polite.
If you are planning to visit, make sure you do your last drive up the mountain either early in morning or late at night and with experience drivers. The only road to Pangot is via Nainital where there is always traffic congestion 365 days of the year.. the road is bit scary and very narrow so you wanna avoid the traffic as much as possible. But in the end, it was all worth it because the stay at Junglelore was amazing.
There’s Kilbury bird and wildlife sanctuary very close, do not miss it if you are avid bird watcher. I did a hike near the resort which was amazing too.. overall I will go again with friends and family..
